# MoyMote

> MoyMote is a Windows app that lets you control an external monitor's brightness, blue light, HDR, contrast and power from your phone, using the monitor's own DDC/CI hardware controls. No MoyMote account and no cloud: the phone only needs its browser, which opens the control panel over the same local network (scan a QR code once to pair).

MoyMote is sold on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and Windows 11. There is a 7-day free trial; after it ends the app locks until purchase and nothing is charged automatically. Price: $19.99 USD, buy once, no subscription; updates are free.

## Key facts
- Typical use: change brightness and warmth from the couch, the bed or across the room without reaching for the monitor's buttons or its on-screen menu; save modes (Day, Night, Movie, Game, plus up to four of your own) and switch with one tap.
- What it controls: brightness, blue light filter, HDR, contrast, screen blackout, PC sleep/shut down, and speaker volume/mute on monitors that accept the command (external monitors, via DDC/CI). The panel shows only the controls the monitor supports. Laptop built-in screens do not support DDC/CI, so brightness is not changeable there; they can still be blacked out.
- How it works: the PC runs MoyMote; scan the QR code it shows with a phone and the control panel opens in the phone's browser (same Wi-Fi). Multiple monitors are supported.
- Privacy: no account, no telemetry, no crash reports. The app contacts the Microsoft Store only to check the license.
- Away from home: optional, via Tailscale on PC and phone, enabled in MoyMote settings.
- Limits: controls depend on each monitor's DDC/CI support; some USB-C docks/hubs/adapters do not pass DDC/CI. Waking a sleeping PC from the phone is not reliable.
